Empowering Women Through a Holistic Approach to Education

In the villages of Bihar, India, where child marriages are rampant and women seldom have agency over their futures, families, or finances, Hikmat Foundation’s mission is to empower the next generation of India’s women in one of the poorest parts of the country.

Our Work

Hikmat Foundation has built two schools -

  • Raibhari Mahua - panchayat of Bagaha Block, West Champaran.

  • Meghwal Mathia - panchayat of Ramnagar Block, West Champaran

As these girls come from poor families, all expenses associated with establishing and maintaining these school are met by Hikmat Foundation – this includes all teachers’ salaries, operating expenses, and capital costs of building the infrastructure.

Well-Rounded Approach to Learning

Hikmat Foundation believes education does not stop in a classroom – the true value lies in the experiences and programs that ignite ambitions and define goals. Alongside a secular, state board education, students are also provided with an immersion program, library, computer center, sports and a focus on the arts.
